WHAT IS THE SPACE APPS CHALLENGE?

The International Space Apps Challenge is the world biggest mass collaboration focused on space exploration that takes place over 48-hours in more than 150 cities around the world.

The event embraces collaborative problem solving with a goal of producing relevant open-source solutions to address global needs applicable to both life on Earth and life in space.

NASA is leading this global collaboration along with a number of government collaborators and local organizing teams.

IEEE ISSAT Sousse Student Branch is proud to host the NASA's International Space Apps Challenge for the First Time .

Space Apps 2016 event will focus on bringing students together with hackers, entrepreneurs and technologists in order to embrace engagement and collaboration between industry, next generation scientists,engineers and entrepreneurs.

Get the chance to work individually or in a team, with real NASA data, to solve the challenges pitched by NASA.

Your solution/design will allow you to put your own mark on Space Exploration mission design.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE ?

Anyone can participate in the International Space Apps Challenge. It requires individuals with a broad range of skills. We are looking for engineers, technologists, scientists, designers, artists, educators, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who has a passion for changing the world and is willing to contribute.

HOW WILL TEAMS BE PUT TOGETHER ?

You can join a team on the day of the event based on your interest in a particular challenge or a match of skills. You are also welcome to form your team in advance and come to the event together.

HOW MANY TEAM MEMBERS CAN WE HAVE?

As many (or as few) as you'd like to have, however the best number of team members is between 4 and 7. Bringing together very diverse skills and talents is often a key to breakthrough innovation!

WHERE SHOULD WE REGISTER?

All team members should register on the Space Apps site so we can be sure we have resources to support everyone who will be participating.

IS THE EVENT LIMITED TO JUST SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT?

Absolutely not! Participants in the event will collaborate to build software, open hardware, data visualization, and citizen science platform solutions that contribute to space exploration and solve global challenges that focus on improving life on earth. In fact, most teams will benefit from having non-programmers working with them.
